TOPIC 29
BREECH PRESENTATION
RATIONALE
The incidence of
breech presentation is about 3-4 percent of singleton deliveries. Because of
the greater frequency of operative delivery (including cesarean section),
there is higher maternal and fetal morbidity and mortality for pregnancies
complicated by persistent breech presentation. Appropriate management of
breech presentation can achieve a measurable reduction in maternal and fetal
morbidity and mortality. Accordingly, the knowledge and skills of the
graduates should be updated so that they can diagnose and manage the breech
presentation.

diagnosis, and management of breech presentation
