INTRAUTERINE FETAL DEATH
RATIONALE
Although labor eventually ensues spontaneously in most women with fetal deathmost often within 2 weeksthe psychological stress imposed by carrying a dead fetus usually prompts induction of labor at the time of discovery. This also obviates the danger of coagulation defects that may develop. Accordingly, the knowledge and skills of graduates should be updated so that they know how to diagnose and manage intrauterine fetal death.
