RATIONALE

 

Stress incontinence (SI) is the involuntary loss of urine with increased intra-abdominal pressure, which can lead to psychic, physical, and medical problems. A measurable reduction in these complications can be achieved by appropriate management of labor.

 

GOALS

 

l        Understand the normal continence mechanism and the pathological background for SI

l        Emphasize preventive measures

l        Recognize and utilize basic diagnostic tools and treatment of SI
