ASJOG History

Ain Shams Journal of Obstetrics and Gynecology (ASJOG®) is an
organization working in the field of continuous medical education for
obstetricians and gynecologists as well as health care providers in other
fields of medicine related to womens health. It was founded in February 2004
by the department of Obstetrics and Gynecology in Ain Shams University, Cairo,
Egypt with Prof. Ali Elian as the chief Editor and Dr. Mohammed El Sherbeeny
as the founder.
Ain Shams University womens hospital is one of the oldest, largest and
busiest teaching hospitals in the Arab world and has always been a pioneer in
medical education.
ASJOG is published quarterly and currently distributes 3000 hard copies (free
of charge) to Egyptian Doctors in universities, teaching and governmental
hospitals as well as private centers all around Egypt.
The editorial and advisory boards of ASJOG include university staff from
different specialties, universities and levels of seniority. They are working
hard to improve and update scientific knowledge for all, free of charge.
In addition to the journal hard copy, ASJOG also has an official website, a
periodical scientific club, educational multimedia productions, TV broadcasted
lectures and patient education leaflets.
The main goals of ASJOG are:
